Changes in the scorecard: Campaign Brief Asia revises rankings criteria

Campaign Brief Asia, whose regional Creative Rankings have a ripple effect on self-esteem and salaries around Asia, has announced two key changes reflecting the 2009 awards season.

First, wins in the London International Awards (LIA) are included in the rankings for the first time.  In its release, Campaign Brief Asia cited “the toughness of the judging, the quality of the winning work and the positive comments from some of the people we respect the most.”  LIA, which received a record number of entries in 2008, is also switching to a more stringent 30+-member jury system.

Secondly, and more likely to affect Philippine rankings, Campaign Brief Asia has announced that AdFest and the Asian Spikes (the new, Cannes-partnered incarnation of MEDIA Spikes) will now receive equal weights for their respective Gold, Silver and Bronze awards.  As before, Craft and Design categories at all shows are not counted.
