Music: Internationally renowned singer Susan Wong collaborates with Filipino musical wunderkind Joe Vince on new smash duet “Two Lonely People”

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — When distance is spanned and musical worlds collide, it’s truly a magical thing… and as the proverbial quotes suggest, music brings people together, and there is always something new to be learned with these creative experiences.

Which is why the all-new duet from Hong Kong artist Susan Wong and up and coming Filipino singer-songwriter Joe Vince is nothing short of spectacular, as it captures all things steady and melodically beautiful; fans of sophisticated songwriting, light, jazzy, and almost lounge-y vibes – and overall well-crafted instrumentation and harmonies – will surely want to add this to their playlist, alongside timeless classics from years before.

Highlighted of course by Susan’s timeless and enchanting voice, the singer – who immigrated to Sydney and was exposed to music at such an early age – is still exploring new territory despite the fact that she had already gained international acclaim through her own music early on, recording various albums in Geneva, Switzerland and in the famed Ocean Way Studios in Nashville USA. Aside from releasing albums, she also unleashed creative re-imaginings of immensely popular songs, from Hall & Oates’ “Everytime you Go Away” to Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean.”

And now she’s even furthering her artistry by collaborating with up-and-coming Filipino songwriter/artist Joe Vince.

“I figure there’s no point in just doing one thing- be it the style and/or approach itself to creating music,” Wong shares when asked about the collaboration. “And Joe Vince was definitely an artist who I felt a kinship with – being young, creatively hungry, and of course, very talented.”

Joe Vince also had very kind words to share about the experience: “She was one of the first artists I was very interested in working with as soon as I joined evosound… her voice is so classy AND classic, so there were absolutely no second thoughts and I immediately said ‘yes’ when the idea for the duet was proposed… it was such a fun process, and she was very easy to work with,” the songwriter reveals, and adds: “My goal on this project was to be able to enhance and learn as much as I could – I’ve always written for myself, and I realized that was a tad… selfish (?), so I knew it was going to be a huge learning experience for me to write something knowing that someone else was going to sing it… plus it’s one check off the bucket list of being able to be heard internationally,” he finishes.

The single is also Joe Vince’s first foray into this vintage style of music, having mostly created songs in the R&B vein and most recently, in traditional Filipino folk-inspired music.

Available now on all digital music platforms and streaming services, “Two Lonely People” is poised to be yet another favorite of both fans of the genre, and even newer listeners who are looking for that trademark smooth vibe that’s perfect for almost any occasion or setting. Prepare to be dazzled by the sound of two creative talents doing what they do best, in perfect harmony.
