JAKARTA, INDONESIA — Truecaller, the leading global platform for verifying contacts and blocking unwanted communication, is proud to announce the incredibly significant milestone of 300 million active users monthly, cementing its position as one of the largest caller ID and spam detection services in the world.

Just over a year ago, the company was 250 million strong, which means 50 million new active users have adopted Truecaller globally since October 2020 in order to build the users’ safety net. Launched over 11 years ago, the Truecaller app is available across the globe supporting multiple languages. In the past year (November 2020 until date), Truecaller saw a boost in active users, and grew by 107.6% in Indonesia alone, while South East Asia witnessed 62% growth in active users in the same period. The 300 million milestones, achieved on 22 November 2021 is a testament of trust and faith that consumers have in the platform, including users from Indonesia which is now a priority market for Truecaller.

As among the most prominent digital economies in the region, Indonesia ranks as one of the most spammed countries in the world according to the Truecaller Annual Global Spam Report.

Truecaller Insights report shows that Indonesia is largely impacted by spam calls. The brand’s significant mission is to help Indonesian people feel safe, secure, and comfortable while communicating, with minimal obstacles regarding phone spam and scams.

Another significant reason for the company to prioritise Indonesia as a focus market in the region is its population that is dominated by young, vibrant, and tech-savvy individuals. These users continually engage in digital services using their smartphones and need to be protected consistently.

Truecaller recently reported a 129% increase in quarterly revenue (Q3 2021) in its first earnings report as a public company. The company completed its initial public offering (IPO) in Nasdaq Stockholm on 8th October 2021.
