Among the highlights are notable international events such as The World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards, which will be held in Asia for the first time; the return of the most anticipated circus act, Cirque du Soleil, with a new show, Kurios; a new edition of the visually-arresting Rainforest Lumina at the Singapore Zoo; Disney events featuring Pixar as part of the third year of partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board; and art events such as the Singapore Biennale and the inaugural Southeast Asia (S.E.A.) Focus; the Singapore Bicentennial celebrations featuring a slew of events such as the Fort Canning Park experiential showcase, through the year to commemorate Singapore’s 200 years of history.
2019 will see two grand retail project launches: the Design Orchard (opening January), a one-stop retail destination where Collectors can seek out exceptional and exclusive locally-designed goods all under one roof; and the highly-anticipated Jewel Changi Airport (opening end March), an iconic lifestyle venue that boasts of world-class attractions, and all-rounded shopping and dining experience. Key features visitors can look out for include the 14,000 square-meter Canopy Park nestled at the top level of the world-class attraction, a breath-taking 40m high Rain Vortex and many more interactive elements like the Canopy Mazes and Discovery Slides.
After entering a large-scale restoration project for a year, the newly-restored Raffles Hotel will also open its doors to guests in 2019. The new chapter of the Raffles story will see the introduction of new hotel suites, dining experiences, history gallery, celebrity chef restaurants and a refreshed Raffles gift shop.

For the first time ever in Asia, The World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards will be hosted in Singapore in June 2019. Foodies can indulge their passion for culinary adventures here through a series of diverse programmes, curated to celebrate culinary innovation, diversity and sustainability including gala awards, bespoke dinners, interactive masterclasses and live discussions. Not to be missed for passionate Foodies is the marquee event Singapore Food Festival. Culture Shapers can discover their inner creativity as 2019 kicks off with Singapore Art Week (SAW). Art takes over the beautiful city for nine days in January, transforming it into a veritable gallery with exhibitions, art trails, talks, art fairs and large-scale art projections. Part of the seventh edition of SAW are the inaugural S.E.A. Focus boutique art fair and the Frieze Academy Series, where Culture Shapers can join international creatives, collectors and academics to discuss contemporary art in Southeast Asia.
